The Eclipse MicroProfile project would like to announce the availability of our e-book titled “Eclipse MicroProfile: Accelerating Cloud-Native Application Development with Java Microservices”. This new publication provides a high-level overview of the business value that the MicroProfile project can bring to an organization that is faced with the challenges of evolving into a world where containers, microservices, cloud, open source, and enterprise Java intersect.

Organizations cannot throw away their legacy or existing applications that have successfully been running their businesses for years; they must gradually integrate and evolve these applications from monoliths to microservices by applying cloud-native application development strategies and techniques to remain or gain a competitive edge in their respective markets. In addition, companies would like to greatly decrease their developers’ learning curve by leveraging their vast experience and knowledge of Java, the most used and popular language at the enterprise level.

Eclipse MicroProfile, a community-driven open source specification for enterprise Java microservices, is the answer to these challenges and it provides, to date, eight implementations in the market (all open source, by the way) giving end-users options and freeing them from vendor lock-in.  The e-book covers many interesting topics, such as the challenges organizations are currently facing, why organizations need microservices, the importance of open source and Java in the enterprise, the business benefits of Eclipse MicroProfile, whether or not your business is a good fit for Java microservices, the value of MicroProfile implementations, among others.

We invite you to download this informative e-book from our MicroProfile.io site (Resources tab) or by clicking on this link. In addition, a slide deck based on this e-book can be downloaded from here and also from the Resources tab at MicroProfile.io. We hope you find them useful.
